Final World Rankings 2023: Springboks extend gap at top, NZ drop!

The Springboks have extended their gap at the top of the World Rankings with a staggering points total to boot. In contrast, New Zealand have dropped.

The Springboks have extended their gap at the top of the World Rankings with a staggering points total to boot. In contrast, New Zealand have dropped.

The Springboks won the 2023 Rugby World Cup, conquering the world and rightfully securing their place at the top of the Men’s Rugby World Rankings for 2023.

Furthermore, their 12-11 win in the RWC final has had massive implications.

SPRINGBOKS BUILD GAP AT THE TOP

The Springboks have extended their gap, building some breathing space between themselves and the likes of Ireland, the All Blacks and France.

Now, they have an incredible points total of 94.54, almost 4 points clear of second-placed Ireland who leapfrogged NZ.

Ireland are on 90.57 points (3.57 behind the Boks). Surprisingly, the All Blacks dropped to third where they will finish the year on 89.80 points.

Finally, hosts France are in fourth place on 87.81.

In other noteworthy changes, England have overtaken Scotland into Fifth after securing the bronze medal in France. Argentina, Wales, Australia and Fiji round out the top 10 for the year.
