Ellis did a fantastic job with Banyana Banyana over the past few months, and she was always a strong favourite to win the award.

Among her achievements, Ellis steered Banyana Banyana to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and guided her side to the Last 16 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

ELLIS WON THREE CAF COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS BEFORE
This isn’t the first time that Ellis wins the CAF Coach of the Year award in the women’s category.

She first scooped the award in 2018 before successfully defending it in 2019. Ellis won the same award again in 2022.

Now, this means the Banyana Banyana mentor has won four CAF Coach of the Year awards in the last five years.
