Cape Town City boss John Comitis doesn’t mince his words regarding the staggering price tag for in demand striker Khanyisa Mayo.
Cape Town City boss John Comitis says the club will only release in-demand striker Khanyisa Mayo for a staggering price tag of R37 million.
Comitis says they can’t settle for a price tag less than R37 million for Mayo who is heavily linked with PSL giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Speaking to Andile Ncube on Metro FM, the City boss Comitis says he is not wrong to demand such a staggering price tag for the wanted striker.

The former Ajax Cape Town boss, says if Mayo nets an impressive 15 goals this term, that will mean the price tag is justifiable.
“I made a statement that if Mayo scores 15 goals this season, then USD2-million [R37-million] is his price tag,” Comitis says.

“I don’t think I am wrong. Even that number now with what’s happening with the African Football League [AFL], they are throwing money around like it’s nothing – let it come my way.
“At this stage, we are happy with Mayo, he still has a long-term contract with us.”
The son of ex-Chiefs striker, Patrick Mayo, Khanyisa is hitting the top gear as he is currently the joint top goal scorer in the DStv Premiership.
