‘Chasing The Sun 2’: Nienaber makes a bombshell RWC admission
Former Springboks coach, Jacques Nienaber made a bold admission in the upcoming Springboks documentary, Chasing the Sun 2.
Chasing the Sun 2, a documentary unpacking the Springboks’ successful 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign, will premiere on Sunday, 24 March.
The original Chasing The Sun is compelling, raw, human and emotional five-part documentary series which tells the story of the Springboks and their journey to the pinnacle of international rugby, the Rugby World Cup in 2019.
Earlier this year, SuperSport announced that a sequel of the documentary will be released following South Africa’s 2023 Rugby World Cup triumph in France.
Chasing The Sun will tell the tale of how the Springboks went on to clinch the Webb Ellis Cup for a record-breaking fourth time in history, making them just the second Test team ever to win back-to-back titles.
CHASING THE SUN 2: FORMER SPRINGBOKS BOSS ON RWC FINAL
In one of the latest trailers released, former Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber reveals that ‘the Springboks shouldn’t have been in the World Cup final’, because of the unique life challenges many of them faced.
He goes on to explain that his charges overcame the curveballs life three at them and defied the odds stacked against them to clinch a second successive Rugby World Cup title.
🗣️ "If you look at the scripts life handed these players, they shouldn't have been in a World Cup final."
