The 32-year-old Gumede became a free agent after leaving Maritzburg United in January. Reports claimed the Soweto-born central defender left the Motsepe Foundation Championship side over a contractual disagreement.
Gumede started to train with Spurs last week before impressing coach Ernst Middendorp.
The former SuperSport United, Platinum Stars and Marumo Gallants star was announced on Wednesday.
“Former Maritzburg United defender, Tshepo Gumede joins the Urban Warriors! Welcome Tshepo!” Spurs announced.
