WHEN FANS CAN EXPECT SOUTH AFRICA TO BE IN ACTION
The Blitzboks started their 2024 HSBC SVNS campaign on a high note in Dubai, winning the opening tournament of the new look series, beating Argentina 12-7 in a pulsating final of the Dubai Sevens on Sunday.
That Cup win ensured they are the top seeds for the Cape Town Sevens tournament this coming weekend and also assisted the South African team in getting an easier draw for the event in the Mother City.
The Blitzboks have been grouped in Pool A alongside with Great Britain, the USA and Ireland and it has now been revealed when exactly they’ll play each of those pool fixtures.
South Africa take on Great Britain at 10h50 (SAST) on Saturday morning, followed by their clash against the Dubai quarter-finalists the USA at 14h12.
The Blitzboks will also play the final match of the day when they square off against Ireland at 19h34 on Saturday night.

BLITZBOKS FORCED TO CHANGE FOR CAPE TOWN SEVENS
In terms on playing personnel, SA Rugby confirmed on Tuesday that Christie Grobbelaar has been ruled out of the Cape Town this weekend after sustaining an ankle injury in Dubai.
The setback resulted Tiaan Pretorius and Tristan Lleyds getting called into the Blitzboks camp as cover.
“It is really unfortunate for Christie, as he was in very good form in Dubai and every player in the team wants to play in their home tournament,” said head coach Sandile Ngcobo.
“As always in rugby, an injury affords another player an opportunity and it could be Tiaan or Tristan. Tiaan is a straight swop for Christie as a forward, but we also added Tristan as he gives us a different option, should we decide to tweak the team for this weekend.”
