Banyana star opens up about her journey after 14 years

Banyana Banyana star, Jermaine Seoposenwe has opened up about life on the squad 100 games and 14 years later.

After playing her 100th game for Banyana BanyanaJermaine Seoposenwe reflects on her ups and downs with the national side.

Seoposenwe faced Tanzania as Banyana claimed a 1-0 win on Tuesday and says her journey is filled has ups and downs.

The veteran says she is proud of playing 100 games for the national team and credits her coaches and teammates.

Seoposenwe made her Banyana debut back in 2010 and was key in the match against Tanzania – she reflects on her ups and downs.

While she is proud of her achievement, Seoposenwe remains humble over her milestone with Banyana.

100-CAPPED SEOPOSENWE LOOKS BACK AT UPS AND DOWNS WITH BANYANA

Instead of boasting about her glory, Seoposenwe also looks at the growth of the Banyana team.

“It’s a privilege and always an honour to walk out for the national team,” says Banyana star Seoposenwe per SABC Sport.

“We’ve grown in leaps and bounds, and it’s been 14 years of me being part of the national team.

“Everyone has played such a big role in my journey in the national teams – ups and downs.

“But I can just thank God for sparing me this long in the national team.

“Making great friends, coaches, staff, the association – for all playing a role in my journey.

“And just continuing to still have that mentality to still be better and still fight for my spot in the team.

“And still being a part of this winning team is amazing – we’ve grown so much.”

VETERAN SEOPOSENWE ON THE TEAM’S GROWTH

Banyana will meet Nigeria in a two-legged affair, Seoposenwe says coming from the Wafcon shows the team’s growth.

“Going to the World Cup, you could see the growth in this team,” adds Seoposenwe about Banyana’s growth.

“And what we want to continue to achieve, and that takes a lot of work and determination.

“But, yeah, I’m so proud to be a part of this team.”

At the same time, Seoposenwe also praises her supportive teammates.

“Having teammates like this, always there for me, encouraging and pushing me as well,” adds the 30-year-old.

“We’re a great group of players when we come together as a team, we love each other.

“We play for each other, and you can see that on the field – that’s why we’ve been so successful.”
