South African defender Terrence Mashego has dismissed the notion of individual clubs driving Bafana Bafana’s success at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), emphasizing team unity as the secret sauce behind their impressive run.

BAFANA UNITED: BEYOND CLUB COLOURS

Following their hard-fought penalty victory against Cape Verde, Mashego addressed media inquiries, deflecting questions that attempted to attribute Bafana’s achievements to his club, Mamelodi Sundowns.

“In the national team, it’s different,” he declared firmly. “It’s not about Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, it’s about individuals getting together and being a team – it’s not about Sundowns or any team, it’s about us being together.”

BELIEF AND RESILIENCE FUEL JOURNEY
