Andile Jali didn’t lose PSL DRC case against Swallows
Andile Jali and his agent refute claims that he lost his PSL DRC case against Swallows, claiming rather that it was struck off the roll.
Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali did not lose his case against his current club, Moroka Swallows.
According to his agent, Mike Makaab, reports that the footballer’s case was struck off the roll by the Premier Soccer League’s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) is incorrect.
MAKAAB DISMISSES REPORTS ABOUT ANDILE JALI’S CASE AGAINST SWALLOWS
Andile Jali, who joined the Dube Birds at the beginning of the season, is fighting to be reinstated by the club after he was fired for embarking on a strike due to unpaid salaries. The former Bucs player was among the Swallows players who did not receive their December salaries. In addition, the footballer has reportedly not even received his signing-on fee.
Makaab told Sunday World that Jali’s fight with Swallows was not over as the first sitting, on 14 February, was to determine whether or not the matter was urgent. Unfortunately for Jali, the DRC concluded that it wasn’t.
“We applied for the matter to be urgent but were denied on the grounds that it was not urgent. No costs are to be paid for that sitting because there has not been a ruling or decision.
“What we have since done is to apply for a new date, where we hope things will be in our favour,” he said.
Further clarifying on Gagasi FM, Makaab said: “We said it is an urgent matter because it pertains to someone’s livelihood. You can’t just dismiss someone and say it is not urgent.
“They said it is not a matter that needs to be heard urgently and therefore you need to follow the proper process. We lost the case of trying to make it an urgent matter to resolve it immediately – the PSL sought otherwise, and we accepted the decision.
“Now we are going to apply for a date and the matter of dismissal is going to happen to be heard, it has not been heard.
HOUSE WOES
Jali, who has found love in the arms of Somi Ndzibongwana, is reportedly at risk of losing his house.
According to Sunday World, Jali is failing to pay levies for his R3.2 million luxury home that he bought in 2016 while he was plying his trade in Belgium.
Lombardy Home Owners Association (a non-profit company) reportedly dragged the soccer player to the Johannesburg high court this week. The organisation claims that he owes them R123 000.
The court papers further reveal that the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder reportedly signed a memorandum of incorporation to pay what he owed when he defaulted on payments.
In addition, there is an additional R46 000 for which Lombardy obtained an order and judgment against the 33-year-old at the Pretoria Central magistrate’s court on 28 August last year.
