AFCON 2023: Bafana Bafana’s Last 16 opponents confirmed

Bafana Bafana are through to the Last 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following their 0-0 draw with Tunisia on Wednesday night.

And their opponents for the next round were confirmed just hours after the said match.

Hugo Broos’ men needed to avoid defeat to be certain of their place in the knockout stages, and they did just that against the Tunisians.

As a result, Bafana Bafana finished second with four points on the Group E log, one behind leaders Mali who beat them 2-0 in their opener.

BAFANA BAFANA TO FACE MOROCCO IN AFCON LAST 16

Bafana Bafana will face Morocco in the Last 16 of this tournament; the North African country topped Group F.

It is worth mentioning that both Bafana Bafana and Morocco were in the same group during the AFCON qualifiers and they beat each other.

Morocco won the first leg while Bafana Bafana secured their plane ticket to Côte d’Ivoire by avenging the result in the return leg.
