2024 World Aquatics Championships: SA gets one medal

South Africa finished in a tie for 34th place with a single bronze medal alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil and Romania.

Team South Africa finished with a single medal at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships which were held between 2-18 February in Doha.

That medal came via a third-place finish by Pieter Coetze in the men’s 200m backstroke.

South Africa finished in a tie for 34th place with a single bronze medal alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil and Romania.

China topped the overall medal standings with 33 medals thanks to 23 gold, 8 silvers and 2 bronzes.

NEXT WORLD AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SINGAPORE

The 2024 World Aquatics Championships included swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, diving, high diving and water polo.

The next World Aquatics Championships will be held in Singapore in 2025.
