Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis a shock to her close friends
Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis came as a huge shock to many of her closest friends.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis came as a shock to her close friends and confidants according to a report.
KATE MIDDLETON’S CANCER DIAGNOSIS WAS A ‘SHOCK’ TO FRIENDS
It seems the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton was wary of leaks to the press when opening up about her cancer diagnosis. Kate shocked her fans and followers when she revealed that cancer had been found in her body after she underwent major abdominal surgery via an emotional video on Friday 22 March.
The Princess of Wales did not disclose what type of cancer she had. This came after her father-in-law King Charles also revealed his cancer diagnosis in February. He also did not reveal what type of cancer he had.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she said as she is seen seated on a garden bench at Windsor Castle, according to The Independent.
“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she continued.
Sources have now claimed that while the Princess was open with some about the diagnosis, other close friends were unaware.
“It was a heck of a shock,” said a source to People.
“The circle of knowledge was very tight,” said a former palace aide to the publication.
THE PRINCESS KEPT THE DIAGNOSIS PRIVATE FOR THE SAKE OF HER ‘YOUNG FAMILY’
Kate explained that she and her husband, Prince William had been managing the news privately for the sake of their young family. This was a reference to her children. Kate and William have three kids together – Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5).
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery to start my treatment,” she said.
