HOME AFFAIRS: HOW TO APPLY FOR YOUR PASSPORT ONLINE NOW
The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) now has an online passport portal.
You can apply for your travel documents online. The process takes just a few minutes, instead of taking hours to visit an office.
Create your account to start.
The online process is available for selected countrywide Home Affairs offices.
It can be necessary to provide other documents, like your Identity Card or Document.

The process begins with online DHA Registration.
Once you have an account, you can access your information and applications here.
Travel documents, including passports and visas, are online these days – but not everyone knows about this!
WHAT ABOUT SMART ID CARDS?
The Department also lets applicants find their Smart ID Card through the same page.
Smart cards are an alternative to older identity books, which could be phased out soon. A new ID Card is easier – and less likely to get lost than older booklets!
