ANC Eastern Cape provincial chairperson Oscar Mabuyane has said they are confident that the party will retain its majority votes in the province ahead of the 2024 general elections.
ANC Eastern Cape provincial chairperson Oscar Mabuyane has said they are confident that the party will retain its majority votes in the province ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Mabuyane was delivering the opening remarks at the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) Lekgotla in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape on Saturday.

Challenges facing the province and assessing the work carried out by the administration were key factors discussed at the committee meeting. The two-day Lekgotla ended on Sunday.
ANC EASTERN CAPE READY FOR GENERAL ELECTIONS
Mabuyane said the party was confident in the work done by the leadership of the province.
“We are confident in the work we have done and the work that we are doing in the province to retain our majority support,” Mabuyane said.
He said strengthening the party’s structure, maintenance of rural roads, and damaged water provisions were among key focus areas for the party.

INSTABILITY WITHIN THE PARTY A MAJOR PROBLEM
On challenges facing the ANC, Mabuyane called for unity among party members saying instability within the party was causing the general public to lose confidence in the party.
“Instability has made our people lose confidence in the ANC hence we lost amongst other areas and all metros, ” he said.
ANC provincial secretary, Lulama Ngukayitobi told the SABC other areas of focus were finding solutions to deal with the water scarcity problem in the province.
“We are working around the clock to find ways to provide reliable and clean water to all residents of the province,” Ngukayitobi said.
