Homeless pets in KZN South Coast desperately need your help
Amid dropping temperatures and dwindling funds, homeless pets and shelter animals urgently require food and warmth for survival.
4 Paws and a Tale Rescue, a Scottburgh-based charity caring for abandoned and stray animals across the region, is making a heartfelt plea for donations as winter tightens its grip.
HOW WINTER AFFECTS HOMELESS PETS
“Winter always brings extra challenges,” says Nicky Koekemoer of 4 Paws and a Tale. “These vulnerable animals need more shelter and food to stay warm.”
The rescue is currently overwhelmed with rescued dogs and cats at their sanctuary, while also continuing to feed and medicate hundreds of strays in the surrounding areas.
“We desperately need donations of food, blankets, and good quality kennels,” Nicky continues. They’re also happy to accept donations of good quality second-hand items to sell in their charity shop, which helps raise vital funds for their work.
CARING FOR HOMELESS PETS
For years, Nicky and her dedicated volunteers have tirelessly cared for abused and neglected animals, preventing cruelty and finding loving forever homes for countless dogs and cats.
Running the sanctuary and outreach programs comes at a significant cost, with food, sterilisations, and veterinary care all adding up. 4 Paws and a Tale relies entirely on the generosity of the public and their continued support is crucial.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- Donate good quality pre-loved items to the Tale End Charity Shop, located at 142 Scott Street, Thira Village, Scottburgh.
- Donate dog and cat food, blankets, or kennels to the 4 Paws Umzinto sanctuary. Contact Nicky on 084 626 5508 to arrange collection.
- Consider adopting a pet and giving them a loving home.
- Make a cash donation to support sterilisations, food programs, and general running costs.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference to the lives of these needy animals.
