Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (Zaoga Forward in Faith) founder Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti has died.
The archbishop was 100, having been born on 5 May 1923 in Chipinge, Manicaland Province.

ARCHBISHOP EZEKIEL GUTI DIES
In a special announcement on the church’s official channel, Ezekiel TV, on 5 July 2023, Zaoga national executive chairman Apostle Joseph Guti announced that the church’s founder had “been promoted to great glory.”
However, Apostle Joseph Guti has it that a detailed update will be given regarding the funeral arrangements. In the wake of his death, little is known about the reasons behind his death.

Unconfirmed reports have it that he once talked about vanishing when he reached 100, and to many, it seems to be a fulfilled prophecy.
In May, the archbishop celebrated his 100th birthday, which coincided with the 63rd anniversary of Zaoga.

PIONEERING ZIMBABWE’S PENTECOSTAL EVANGELISM
He celebrated his birthday with President Mnangagwa and other church leaders across Zimbabwe. The late Guti was heaped praise for pioneering Zimbabwe’s Pentecostal evangelism.
With over eight decades of ministering, Apostle Ezekiel Guti quickly became one of the most celebrated archbishops in Africa.

Zaoga has since become one of the most followed ministries in Zimbabwe and has since established branches across the globe.
Through Zaoga, he established several educational institutions across Zimbabwe. Apart from academic institutions, he also pioneered medical facilities to serve members of his church and others.
