World Travel Awards: 15 South African winners in Africa category
The 2024 World Travel Awards: Africa took place recently and no less than 15 South African establishments walked away with top honours.
South Africa wins big at World Travel Awards
The 31st annual World Travel Awards hosted its Africa leg of the awards on Friday, 18 October and a number of South African travel and tourism establishments walked off with accolades.
The ‘travel Oscars’ event took place at Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort, Diani Beach, Kenya at a glittering ceremony to recognise and honour the travel organisations pushing the boundaries of excellence and innovation.
A total of 15 South African travel and tourism organisations were awarded leading titles in Africa, including Cape Town as Africa’s Leading City Destination and Durban as Africa’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination.
Graham Cooke, Founder of the World Travel Awards, said that it had been a privilege to welcome the winners from every corner of Africa to celebrate.
“Our winners represent stellar examples of tourism excellence, and I congratulate each and every one for helping raise the collective benchmark of Africa’s thriving tourism economy to even greater heights.” Cooke said.
