‘Mercedes Benz looter’ Mbuso Moloi has pleaded GUILTY to looting a Woolworths store during the KwaZulu-Natal riots in July 2021.

The much-anticipated trial finally got under way in the Durban Regional Court on Monday, 27 March, but was adjourned to Wednesday, 29 March, as reported by The South African website.

Moloi handed himself over to police after images of him carrying a basket of items out of the Glenwood Woolworths that was being looted went viral on social media.

He was then seen loading the groceries into his luxury Mercedes Benz car.

In addition, his vehicle was attached by the Asset Forfeiture Unit as it was deemed a tool used to commit a crime.

The matter was postponed to Wednesday, 31 May for sentencing.
