A single fortunate winner claimed the over R100 million PowerBall jackpot from the 24 January 2025 draw.

It seems some loyal lottery players aren’t impressed that another big winner of the PowerBall used a banking app to bag the millions. Here’s what some South Africans had to say.

R100 MILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT WINNER

A lottery player bagged a total of R102 670 563 after playing the game this past Friday, 24 January. The National Lottery Ithuba posted about the win on their X account to congratulate the winner.

Their post on the R100 million PowerBall winner read: “CONGRATULATIONS to the lucky #PowerBall jackpot WINNER who WON a MASSIVE jackpot of OVER R100 MILLION from the 24/01/25 draw.”

The post by the lottery operator further revealed how the R100 million PowerBall winner bought their winning ticket. Their post explained: “The winning ticket was purchased using the FNB banking app.”

Some South Africans who seem to be loyal players of the game expressed their annoyance about the R100 million PowerBall winner being an FNB customer again. Here’s what they had to say.

The R100 million PowerBall winner has not yet claimed their winnings. Ithuba has called on the player to come forward and claim their prize.
