WESTERN CAPE PREMIER WINDE: WHAT WE KNOW
The Western Cape government is hoping to build economic relations between the local South African government and South Korea.

According to what we know from an official government announcement, Western Cape Premier Alan Winde will be leading a delegation to learn from South Korea. This follows a co-operative deal that has been in existence since 2000.
The point of the visit to South Korea is to promote ties between countries, but also to learn from the energy and logistics sectors, says the release from the 21st of September.
Where the Western Cape delegation is going
According to information from the SA Government, the Western Cape delegation will be making their way to South Korea – and the Premier is leading the group to the Port of Busan.

The port has a long history that goes back to 1876, where it began as a small outpost between Japan and Korea. Today, the Port of Busan is one of the busiest and largest ports for South Korea.
The visit is deemed important for mutual development, and Premier Winde hopes to learn more from how the port conducts their business.
WHY THE PREMIER IS VISITING SOUTH KOREA
According to the available information, the visit is meant to focus especially on energy and logistics.

Since May 2022, the country has been in control of thirteenth President Yoon Suk Yeol.
The visit to South Korea is hoping to learn from how the Port of Busa operates, with the goal of improving operations back home in South Africa when the delegation returns to home soil.
