Zuma now earns R2,874,851 a year, which means he gets R7‚876 a day or R239‚568 a month.
The Democratic Alliance’s Chief Whip, John Steenhuisen, was visibly angry about Zuma getting a raise after firing finance minister Nhlanhla Nene in December – causing the markets and the rand to plummet – “and riding over South Africa with a bus, then putting it in reverse and riding over South Africa again”.
