WATCH Andrea Bocelli LIVE on Easter Sunday, Stream Music For Hope in Milan

On Easter Sunday (April 12, 2020), you can watch Italian global music icon Andrea Bocelli performing live at the magnificent Duomo cathedral of Milan (we’ve got the video for you at the bottom of the page – you can set a reminder for 7pm SA time). Here’s a taste of what you can expect:

The city and Cathedral of Milan invited the music maestro to deliver a solo performance representing a message of love, healing and hope to Italy and the world. And we’re all invited.

“On the day in which we celebrate the trust in a life that triumphs, I’m honored and happy to answer ‘Sì’ to the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan. I believe in the strength of praying together; I believe in the Christian Easter, a universal symbol of rebirth that everyone – whether they are believers or not – truly needs right now.,” says Bocelli.

“Thanks to music, streamed live, bringing together millions of clasped hands everywhere in the world, we will hug this wounded Earth’s pulsing heart, this wonderful international forge that is reason for Italian pride.”

Bocelli heralded Milan for being proactive and courageous, an “engine of a renaissance that we all hope for”.

Bocelli promises that the solo concert will be a joy to witness in the Duomo “during the Easter celebration which evokes the mystery of birth and rebirth”. (It’s also in Milan that you will find one of Easter’s most famous paintings –  Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Last Supper.)

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF) has started a Covid-19 fundraiser to help hospitals purchase the instrumentation and equipment necessary to protect their medical staff. It is possible to donate here.
