Volvo announced its new electric car, the EX30, will arrive in South Africa in early 2024.
The all-electric Volvo EX30 has been confirmed for introduction to South Africa, the Swedish carmaker announced.
It’s the brand’s most affordable electric vehicle (EV) with a five-model line up priced from R775 900.
It’s the smallest Volvo yet, measuring just 4.23m long, according to IOL.
Despite its small stance the EX30 is the fastest-accelerating Volvo yet, scorching to 100km/h from standstill in 3.6 seconds.

TWO VOLVO EX30 MODELS USING SINGLE ELECTRIC MOTORS WILL APPEAL TO PRICE-CONSCIOUS BUYERS
The R775 900 Core model sporting a single motor that uses a 51 kWh battery has a claimed WLTP range of 344km.
The compact SUV offers space for five people rides on the brand’s modular Sustainable Electric Architecture and measures 4 233 mm long, 1 836 mm wide and 1 555 tall, with a wheelbase of 2 650 mm.

Locally, Volvo will offer the car in both Single Motor and Twin Motor derivatives with a choice of batteries including the high-voltage 51 kWh and 69 kWh units.
Specification wise, there are trio of levels: Core, Plus and the flagship Ultra. Volvo says the EX30 in base grade will provide generous levels of standard equipment.
