Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink is not leaving office
Six months is all it could take to turn around the City of Tshwane’s financial standing according to mayor Cilliers Brink.
Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink has refuted claims he may soon be leaving office.
This comes after former ANC leader in the region Kgosi Maepa took to social media announcing Brink’s eminent departure.

Credible sources tell us that Mayor @CilliersB is about to resign. He attended a DA interview for selection of Members of Parliament for 2024 elections. Apparently DA is deeply worried about imminent released of AG report.

According to Maepa, a possible unfavorable outcome of the Auditor General’s report has prompted Brink’s move.

On X (formally Twitter) he wrote: “Mayor of Tshwane about to resign!”
“Credible sources tell us that Mayor Cilliers Brink is about to resign. He attended a DA interview for selection of Members of Parliament for 2024 elections. Apparently DA is deeply worried about imminent released of AG report.”
However, in response, Brink accused the ANC of having left the municipality in tatters due to alleged corruption.
“I’m going nowhere. The last candidate you fielded in Tshwane was an unrehabilitated insolvent. We’re trying to save Tshwane from insolvency, and from networks of corruption serving your comrades”, says Brink’s.
