Tshwane march for unemployed doctors will affect traffic
Due to a march in Tshwane by the South African Medical Trade Union today, motorists have been urged to use alternative routes.
The City of Tshwane has urged motorists to find alternative routes as certain streets will be affected by a march to the Union Buildings.
The march will be on Monday, 26 February.
TSHWANE STREETS AFFECTED BY THE SAMATU MARCH
In a statement, the City of Tshwane said the purpose of the South African Medical Trade Union (Samatu) would be to march against the unemployment of healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, and dieticians.
The participants will gather at the Corner of Madiba and Kgosi Mampuru Streets from 9:00 and march to the Union Buildings.
The following streets will be affected by the march:
- Madiba Street
- Thabo Sehume Street
- Lilian Ngoyi Street
- Sisulu Street
- Steve Biko Street
Furthermore, Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) and South African Police Service (SAPS) members will be deployed to monitor the march.
MOTORISTS CAN USE THE FOLLOWING ROUTES:
- Francis Baard Street
- Struben Street
- Johannes Ramokhoase Street
- Stanza Bopape Street
