The documentary – Oscar Pistorius: the Interview – is the Paralympian’s first television interview about the fateful night in 2013 when he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
According to ITV, Pistorius “gives his account of what happened the night he killed his girlfriend and is questioned about key details of the prosecution case which resulted in his conviction. He also talks about his relationship with Reeva, the allegations of his previous abusive behaviour towards her and and his previous use of firearms.”
The programme will be aired in the UK on Friday 24 June, and seconds after finishing it will be broadcast on M-Net at 22:55 as a special edition of Carte Blanche, with added insights from the CB team.
It’s also due to be aired on TV3 on Monday at 20:30.
The interview, with journalist Mark Williams-Thomas, took place at Pistorius’ uncle’s luxury home in Pretoria where he has been staying while he prepares to return to jail since his original culpable homicide conviction was overturned, and replaced with a conviction of murder.
Reeva’s family turned down an invitation to take part in the programme.
Pistorius is set to be sentenced on 6 July 2016.
