A suspect is allegedly behind the torching of trucks on the N2 between Ermelo and Piet Retief in Mpumalanga was captured by an in-cab camera.
This comes as four trucks were set alight in the early hours on Wednesday, 12 July and one person was injured.

During a briefing on Wednesday, Police Minister Bheki Cele said nine trucks have been torched in Mpumalanga.
Five were set alight and attacked on Sunday evening on the N4 near Waterval Boven while four were torched between Ermelo and Sheepmore.

During the briefing, Cele said whether it is economic sabotage, labour or service delivery related disputes, police are closing in on those who choose to use violence and intimidation for whatever motive.
“Intelligence suggests that attacks on trucks may be business related and we know that these are not just random acts of criminality. Evidence before us points to organized coordinated and sophisticated operations that seek to undermine and sabotage the state. We are encouraged that 12 people of interest have been identified through investigations and intelligence collection,” Cele said.
