President Zuma has decided to cancel his planned trip to Mozambique, after visiting former President Nelson Mandela in hospital on Wednesday night.
After being briefed by the doctors during his visit at around 10 pm, President Zuma announced that he will cancel his visit to Maputo today, Thursday 27 June, where he was set to take part in the SADC Regional Summit of Infrastructure Investment.
The Presidency stated that Mandela is still in “critical condition” but did not go as far as to confirm media reports that the South African icon is now on life support. He said the doctors are “still doing everything they can to ensure Madiba’s well-being”.
The South African President again thanked all South Africans for their continued support of the Madiba family.
