Some suburbs supplied by Johannesburg Water are experiencing a critically poor water supply in Johannesburg after an issue was discovered in the system.
THE LIST OF TOWERS AND RESERVOIRS AFFECTING LOCAL AREAS
According to Johannesburg Water, some of its reservoirs and towers have critically low water supply due to poor supply pressure (low or no supply) from Rand Water.

SOUTH HILLS TOWER POOR WATER SUPPLY
The South Hills tower is not receiving any supply from Rand Water. Customers in the supply zone will be impacted by no water.
CROSBY HILL, HURSTHILL 1 AND HURSTHILL 2 RESERVOIRS
All three systems are critically low due to poor supply pressure. Residents in these reservoir zones will be impacted by low-pressure to no-water

BRIXTON AND EAGLE NEST
Both these systems have critically low water levels due to poor supply pressure. Residents in these supply zones will be impacted by low pressure to no water.
DOORNKOP WEST RESERVOIR
Critically low water levels but is supplying normally.
In the interim, Johannesburg Water said it is providing alternative water supply to all areas affected.

Meanwhile, Johannesburg Water has announced a water shutdown in Diepkloof zone 6 for tomorrow, Tuesday 29 August from 7am – 10pm. The reason for the unplanned interruption is due to the repairing of a burst water pipe that feeds the Orlando East reservoir. Water tankers will be provided if the planned work exceeds the stipulated time.
