Why do you need a Schengen visa?
Some travellers who plan on visiting Europe will first need to apply and get approved for Schengen Visas. This visa, according to Schengen.News, is a travel permit that allows all its holders to enter and stay in the Schengen Area/European Union, which is made up of 29 countries, for short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
There are currently 104 countries worldwide, whose citizens need Schengen visas in order to travel to Europe.

How much does it cost to apply for Schengen Visas?
According to Schengenvisa.info, all visitors wishing to visit a Schengen area in Europe will need to pay a non-refundable administration fee when applying for their visa, in order for their visa application to be processed.
This fee for South African citizens is €90 (equivalent to around R1 775,86) per adult.
Children between the ages of six and twelve pay a reduced fee of €45 (about R887,93) per child. Children under the age of six are 100% exempt from these application fee.
