SARS warns of new impersonation scam
The South African Revenue Service has cautioned the public about fraudsters who send emails to taxpayers, posing as SARS employees.
The South African Revenue Service has alerted the public about scammers sending emails to unsuspecting taxpayers and businesses while posing as SARS officials.
The emails typically contain an attachment with a link where one can ‘settle an outstanding balance or debt’.
A real SARS employee’s name and contact details appear on the email signature, but if you look closely the email domain is different.
