In a move to ensure the safety of the public during the upcoming Rugby World Cup final match, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is intensifying its weekend high-density operations.
This proactive measure includes close monitoring of places of leisure like fan parks and public gatherings, both before and after the Rugby World Cup final.

SAPS ENHANCES SECURITY AT FAN PARKS AHEAD OF RWC
As the Rugby final approaches, SAPS intensifies surveillance at fan parks and public gatherings throughout the weekend, according to spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.

This proactive measure includes close monitoring of places of leisure like fan parks and public gatherings, both before and after the Rugby World Cup final.
The National Crime Combatting Forum (NCCF), comprising all Provincial Commissioners, convened under the leadership of General Fannie Masemola.

“Their objective was to discuss the operational plans designed to guarantee the safety and security of these gatherings. The NCCF aims to ensure that the police are ready to enforce the law at all times.”
General Masemola expressed his satisfaction with the strategies in place to oversee the evening’s festivities.
“These strategies are part of Operation Shanela, which encompasses regular roadblocks, stop-and-search procedures, and the tracking of wanted suspects.”

THE PUBLIC IS URGED TO ACT RESPONSIBLY
It is in this context that the SAPS is urging the public attending these public viewing venues to act responsibly.
The SAPS emphasizes the importance of cooperation from members of the public to maintain a safe environment.

For the third tournament in a row, the showpiece occasion will be contested by the top two teams in the World Rugby Men’s Rankings, and two of the sport’s fiercest rivals.
