SANCCOB opens up new coffee shop for a good cause
The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) has launched a brand new coffee shop in Cape Town.
SANCCOB introduces new offering at visitor centre
The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) recently opened up The Coffee Fountain on 16 November, a brand new coffee shop located in its Visitor Centre in Table View.
Offering views over the stunning Rietvlei Nature Reserve and Table Mountain, the coffee shop aids the foundation’s efforts towards protecting coastal birds.
“Introducing The Coffee Fountain at SANCCOB Table View! Opening on 16 November, from 8am – 5 pm daily. Enjoy delicious brews, light bites, and breathtaking views of Rietvlei Nature Reserve and Table Mountain. Also get a sneak glimpse of our playful African penguins close by!” SANCCOB said in Facebook post.
Learning made fun at the visitor centre
The new coffee shop is situated at SANCCOB’s Table View visitor centre which offers informative, fun tours for all, all while aiming at raise awareness about the critically endangered African penguin and other seabird species in South Africa.
About the tours
If you want to visit the centre, here’s a bit of information worth knowing beforehand:
- The Table View visitor centre offers daily tours every hour, on the hour, starting from 09:00 and the last tour commencing at 15:00.
- No more than 10 people allowed per group.
- Home Pen feeds take place at 11:00 and 15:00 daily if you wish to watch as part of your tour experience.
- Cost for adult RSA citizens is R60 (ID/passport verification required)
- Cost for adult SADC citizens is R65 (ID/passport verification required)
- Cost for adult international visitors is R75 (ID/passport verification required)
- Cost for senior citizens is R40
- Cost for kids 12 years and under is R50
- Kids under 3 years old enter free
- Booking is essential as only one group may occupy a time slot. Walk-ins may only receive a tour if the timeslot is available.
