‘Sabotage?’: Another suspicious Sasko bread video goes viral

Just days after two consumers allegedly discovered dead rats in their Sasko bread, another individual has posted a questionable video detailing their own experience.

South African social media users suspect that Sasko Bread is being “sabotaged” following the circulation of another questionable viral video.

In it, a woman revealed that she had bought a loaf which contained both brown and white bread.

In recent weeks, two women have allegedly found dead rats in their bread.

Back in 2020, another social media user claimed the brand “ignored” them after they discovered a rodent in their baked goods.

BEST OF BOTH? SASKO BREAD HAS  CONSUMER CONFUSED

In a TikTok posted this week, user Lebohang Matela shared a clip of a loaf of white Sasko bread she had recently bought.

The loaf had several slices which had been mixed with brown bread.

RATS AND RECALLS?

Last week, Sasko – which falls under Pioneer Foods – denied that it had recalled close to 200 000 loaves following an incident of a Johannesburg woman who reportedly found a dead rat in her bread.

Just days before, Sasko conceded that another consumer, a Durban woman, had also found the remnants of a rodent in her bread.

The company vowed to launch an investigation and halt production until they were satisfied with their findings.

Meanwhile, in 2020, an X user, @GhettoSoldeir, claimed that they had also found a dead rat in their bread.

The account retweeted the images again this week, adding: “Sasko didn’t respond…so we have been eating rats this whole time. It’s time to boycott Sasko. This is bad”.

‘SABOTAGE’, SAY SOCIAL MEDIA USERS.

Meanwhile, social media users are convinced that Sasko bread is being “sabotaged” following a spate of bad press.

@vamzo: “What is happening at Sasko?”

@nobs: “I think there is one unhappy employee there”

@nonto: “I think someone is trying to sabotage them.”
