HIJACKED TRUCK: IN ANOTHER STORY
Crime continues to be a huge problem in the country. Earlier this month, four suspects were taken in for questioning after a truck carrying 32 000 litres of diesel was hijacked in Mpumalanga, IOL reported. The spokesperson for the police in the province, Colonel Donald Mdhluli is said to have shared that the truck driver had stopped at a filling station and went into a kiosk, and upon his return to the truck, he was allegedly ambushed by the criminals.
“On his return (to his truck), it is alleged that he was accosted by three armed men who held him at gunpoint. It is further reported that the suspects allegedly hijacked the driver of his truck, only to abandon it later along the N4 Road near Komatipoort after draining the diesel,” Mdhluli was quoted as saying.
