The alarming rate of drug sbuse in the community of Ermelo, in Mpumalanga province, has made the residents seek help from the government.
Residents of Ermelo in the province of Mpumalanga are pleading with the government to step in and combat the alarming rate of drug misuse in the community.
According to locals, the number of young people in the neighborhood who are addicted to drugs has dramatically increased.

Nyaope is a mixture of toxicity. The drug is distributed as a powder and is usually added to tobacco or marijuana. The noxious concoction is then smoked and the result is one of the most poisonous and deadly drugs in the world, alternatively, the powder is cooked and then injected.

A facility like a rehabilitation center could help with the issue, according to a local preacher named Kholwani Ngcongwane.
WHAT DO ERMELO RESIDENTS WANT ASSISTANCE WITH?
SABC reported, “Since the procedure is taking so long, we need more centers, particularly the rehabilitation center. The Department of Social Development (DSD), with whom I spoke, acknowledged that they do assist them. But it takes longer with them. Therefore, I’m not sure if the government can assist us in bringing something quicker, ” he said.

The high rate of substance misuse in the neighborhood, according to some of the young people who are addicted to drugs, is caused in part by the simple accessibility of substances like Nyaope.
