The South African Social Security Agency(SASSA) released all the payment dates for the 2023/24 financial year.
Beneficiaries are reminded that grants do not need to be withdrawn on the day they are paid out nor will the beneficiaries forfeit their money if it is not taken out. SASSA.
SASSA GRANT PAYOUT DATES
Beneficiaries can withdraw their funds from the Post Office, retail partners such as Spar, Checkers Shoprite, Boxer and Pick ‘n Pay as well as ATMs.
- Older persons- 2 August
- Disability- 3 August
- Children’s grants (and all others)- 4 August
Individuals who receive the R350 social relief in distress grant (SRD) will be paid as and when they are approved.

If there is a family member who is frail, disabled or elderly and cannot collect their money, they can appoint a SASSA procurator.

A procurator is someone who collects a grant on behalf of someone else who is unable to collect on their own.
Requirements:
- 18 years and older
- Permanently reside in South Africa
- Must be willing to be appointed as a procurator
- Must not be an un-rehabilitated insolvent
- Has a valid ID
- Life certificate for the beneficiary
- The beneficiary is not in debt to the procurator
- The procurator cant be appointed by more than five beneficiaries
- Provide an affidavit
