Ramaphosa not fazed by Phala Phala farm saga during elections

Ramaphosa says his conscience is clear with regards to the Phala Phala farm saga, and any political party is free to use for electioneering.

For over a year and a half, the Phala Phala farm theft saga has shrouded Cyril Ramaphosa’s presidency. However, the country’s first citizen is not losing any sleep over it.

Speaking to eNCA Ramaphosa, says he has spoken expensively about the robbery on his farm in 2020.

RAMPHOSA ON PHALA PHALA

Five hundred and sixty thousand dollars was taken from his Phala Phala farm four years ago. The money was proceeds from the sale of his buffaloes to businessman Hazim Mustafa who is now subject to an investigation by the South Africa Revenue Services(SARS).

SARS maintains that Mustafa failed to properly declare the money but Ramaphosa saying the case has nothing to do with him.

“The case that it going through is a case that he (Mustafa) has to answer for. So as we are concerned he must deal with it,” says Ramaphosa.

“We have explained the circumstances how it came to be and how it came to be stolen and what the money was for. So, that has been explain on a number of occasions, in various statements and so forth.”

A CLEAR CONSCIENCE

With elections coming up, Ramaphosa says he does not fear opposition using the Phala Phala saga against him and the ANC

“They are free to use it, its a free country.”

Asked if he is conscience over is clear over the matter, Ramaphosa has this to say:

“Yes.”
