What IS caviar service?
Caviar service on an airplane is a hallmark of premium air travel and typically features a selection of top-tier caviar, such as Beluga, Osetra, or Sevruga. These types of caviar are prized for their delicate textures and rich flavours, making them a sought-after delicacy.
To enhance the caviar experience, airlines provide a carefully curated assortment of traditional garnishes. These can include blinis – small, soft pancakes – which serve as a perfect base for the caviar. Accompanying this are crème fraîche, which adds a creamy, tangy contrast, and finely chopped onions or chives, which provide a touch of sharpness. Hard-boiled eggs may also be included, offering an additional layer of flavour and texture.
Airlines might also offer fine champagne or premium vodka to pair with caviar, as these beverages are chosen for their ability to enhance the flavours of the caviar.
