The Proteas wrapped up the first Test against the West Indies inside three days and while many fans didn’t get to enjoy the match live, one young fan made a plan.

Whoever decided to start the Proteas first Test match of 2023 on a Tuesday has some explaining to do.

NO SCHOOL TODAY FOR YOUNG CRICKET FAN
Business is back to work and schools have long resumed.
So who did they anticipate would turn up at SuperSport Park in Centurion to watch a relatively low-key series between the Proteas and the West Indies?
Starting in midweek and over before Friday, it really took some ‘out of the box’ thinking for fans to attend the victory.

On day three, Proteas speedster Kagiso Rabada claimed his 13th career five-wicket haul as he led the Proteas to a 87-run win over West Indies.
The Proteas could only muster 116 in their second innings, but a chase of 247 always looked too much to handle for the Windies.
At one point, the visitors were 33/5, and although Jermaine Blackwood (79) did put up some resistance. But Rabada ultimately tore through the line-up to finish with stunning figures of 6-50.

The second Test between South Africa and the West Indies gets underway at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 8 March.
