Prince William meets with Springbok legends during his visit to South Africa
During his visit to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize awards, Prince William joined students for a game of rugby and met with several Springbok legends.
Britain’s Prince William kicked off his South Africa visit on Monday by playing rugby with students and meeting young environmental advocates ahead of the Earthshot Prize awards, which recognize solutions to climate change.
He also got to meet a number of Springbok greats.
The heir to the British throne took to the field at a school in Cape Town’s underprivileged township of Ocean View, established under the apartheid regime for people forcibly removed from areas reserved for whites.

Youngsters from the area take part in a rugby training programme established in 2014 by former England rugby player, Jason Leonard.
The 2003 World Cup-winning prop accompanied Prince William to the school, a statement from Kensington Palace said.
Also in attendance were Joel Stransky (six Tests), Percy Montgomery (102 Tests), Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira (117 Tests), Eddie Andrews (23 Tests) and Scarra Ntubeni (one Test).
