Norse Atlantic London-Cape Town flights touch down in SA
Norse Atlantic Airways’ new budget-friendly London to Cape Town flights officially began this week on Tuesday, 29 October.
Norse Atlantic Airways’ new route
Low-cost Norwegian carrier, Norse Atlantic Airways officially kicked off its seasonal flights London to Cape Town flights this past Tuesday, 29 October.
According to Travel News, the flight, which was sold out, was late landing at Cape Town International Airport as the pilot gave passengers a scenic tour of the city before touching down to a water salute and a welcome from a marimba band.
Bjørn Tore Larse, Norse Atlantic CEO and founder, was on the first flight and said that the route was created because he felt a need for more competition between Cape Town and London after visiting the city last year but found the return to London very expensive.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new route between London and Cape Town. By breaking the duopoly on this route, we are not only expanding travel options for consumers but also driving down costs and putting the customer back in the pilot’s seat,” Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO and Founder of Norse Atlantic Airways said earlier this year.
“At Norse Atlantic Airways, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the wonders of the world and our new route to Cape Town will allow many more people to visit this amazing destination.” Larsen added.
