During cross-examination by defence councils Madlala insisted that accused 2 Bongani Ntanzi is the intruder Meyiwa had pinned against the wall when alleged intruders entered the Khumalo household.

When asked about discrepancies between his statement and that of other witnesses who were present during the incident Madlala said his statement is the only one that details exactly how the incident happened.
