‘MK PARTY IS AIMING FOR A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY WIN’
Other names mentioned by the MK Party, which the party says will boost its chances of getting a two-thirds majority vote at the polls in May, include Secretary-General Sihle Ngubane, Deputy Secretary-General Arthur Zwane, and Treasurer General Danisa Zulu.
“The National Leadership Core congratulates all the members in their roles of deployment in ensuring the delivery of a two-third (2/3) majority elections outcome,” said Nhlamulo Ndhlela, the party’s national spokesperson.
He said that the MK Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), held a meeting on 26 March and decided to make these appointments to ensure that it strengthens the organisation’s campaigning machinery aiming for a two-thirds majority.
‘LEADERSHIP WILL NOT TOLERATE PARALLEL STRUCTURES’
Ndhlela said the national leadership core of the MK Party will not tolerate any attempt to sow divisions within the party by members forming parallel structures of any kind.
“We want to deliberately state that any parallel structures in any form, will not be tolerated by the National Leadership Core, it will act swiftly in circumventing any person/member that aims to destabilise the people’s movement,” he said.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said at the time of Nhleko’s resignation from the ANC that it was a walk of shame by Nhleko, whom Mbalula singled out for having misled Parliament about the Nkandla fire pool to protect Zuma.
‘ANC VALUES AND PRINCIPLES NOT ALIGNED WITH ME,’ SAID NHLEKO
Nhleko said in a letter to senior ANC leaders that he was unhappy with Mbalula and the ruling party because its current values and principles were not aligned with him.
In his resignation letter to the ANC, Nhleko said it was unfortunate and painful to see the organisation that he loved dearly turning into something he could no longer recognised. He said that he was at odds with the ANC because its values and principles were not aligned with him.
“The trend of gradually dismantling state-owned enterprises and subsequently privatising them covertly is exemplified by the situation at Transnet. Consequently, and regrettably, I resign from this ANC as its current values and principles are not aligned with mine,” Nhleko wrote in his resignation letter.
