A seven-year-old boy who went missing on Saturday, 17 June, has been found safe and will be reunited with his family, the Western Cape police announced on Friday.

ENHLE MANELI FOUND
Earlier this week, the provincial police put out a call for public assistance to find Enhle Maneli. The boy disappeared from his home in the COVID informal settlement in Mfuleni.
“The child is mute and cannot speak. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a blue hoody top, red pants and brown shoes,” said spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg at the time.

On Friday morning, at approximately 7:31, Twigg provided an update and said the missing boy had been found and would be reunited with his family. It is unclear when Enhle was found, nearly two weeks have passed since he was last seen at home.

If someone you know is not present, and you realise they are missing, it is important to inform the police as soon as possible – you DO NOT have to wait 24 hours.
The South African has a missing persons segment to help locate missing individuals, but before filling out the form, the police must be notified. It is necessary to inform the missing person’s family before completing the form to ensure they know that the media may be involved.
