Pricing and details of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC have been released, with all three models in the line-up featuring a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is available in three derivatives from launch: 220d, 300d and a petrol-powered 300 model.

THE GLC IS THE GERMAN CARMAKER’S MID-SIZE SUV OFFERING

In terms of standard specification, the GLC is offered in with the Avantgarde exterior trim level with Chrome package including chrome window surrounds and a new, chrome-look simulated underguard, according to Motorpress.

From a visual point of view, the GLC has undergone styling changes that include: a redesigned front-end and headlights that connect directly to the radiator grille.

There’s a new radiator grille as part of the Avantgarde specification there’s a chrome surround and a louvre finished in matt grey with chrome trim. The AMG Line model is differentiated by a radiator grille with a Mercedes-Benz pattern, according to TimesLive.

Wheel size options range from 18-inch to 20-inch and the track has been widened by 6mm at the front and 23mm at the rear.

For buyers who need more space, the GLC sports a larger boot than the previous model with the compartment now boasting 620 litres of space, 70 litres more than before.

THE MERCEDES-BENZ GLC IS LONGER AND LOWER THAN ITS PREDECESSOR

Step inside the Mercedes-Benz GLC and it’s immediately noticeable how closely its interior resembles the new C-Class.

There are two screens that dominate proceedings, one is a 12.3-inch high-res unit that houses the instrument cluster. A second screen is the 11.9-inch display that’s mounted centrally display that is slightly angled towards the driver.

Crucially, the GLC is available with a new panoramic sunroof as an optional extra.

For 2023 the Mercedes-Benz GLC launch models are all powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The power is sent all four wheels and 9G-tronic automatic transmission does duty across the range.

A diesel engine does does duty in the 220d and offers 145kW and 440Nm. The middle of the range 300d sees an increase in power to 198kW and 550Nm.

The sole petrol-powered model is the GLC 300 and boasts a healthy 190kW and 400Nm.
