Mbalula is confident of the ANC’s chances at the Electoral Court
ANC Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula is confident that Electoral Court will rule in the party’s favour in it’s case against the IEC.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says they are confident that the Electoral High Court will rule in the ANC’s favour this afternoon in the party’s case against the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC).
The case is over the IEC’s registration of the Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, which is contesting the upcoming general elections in May. The ANC says the process followed by the IEC was “procedurally flawed” and it should be reversed.
ANC IS CONFIDENT AHEAD OF COURT RULING – MBALULA
He was speaking outside the court room in Mangaung, in the Free State ahead of the court’s delivery of the judgement in the case, which could result in the disqualification on the MK Party from contesting the upcoming general elections.
“We are confident of the arguments we have put forward before the court,” Mbalula said while thanking the masses of ANC supporters who took the journey to the Electoral Court to support their party.

Meanwhile, ANC National Spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri, said the ANC took the decision to defend Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) name because it was an integral part of the ANC’s 112 year heritage and intellectual property rights.
