Limpopo: 45 congregants killed in bus accident
A bus driver transporting congregants from Botswana to Moria reportedly lost control on R518 in Limpopo and 45 people were killed.
The Minister of Transport, Sindisiwe Chikunga, has sent condolences to the families of the 45 people who were killed in an accident on the R518 near Mamatlakala heading to Moria in Limpopo.
A bus transporting congregants from Botswana to Moria fell off a bridge, crashed and caught fire on Thursday, 28 March.

According to the Department of Transport, 45 people were killed instantly, while one person was seriously injured.
The sole survivor is reportedly an eight-year-old.

Following the accident, Chikunga said their thoughts and prayers are with the families affected during this difficult time.
“We continue to urge responsible driving at all times with heightened alertness as more people are on our roads this Easter weekend,” Chikunga said.
“The SAPS continues to provide updates as the rescue and recovery efforts unfold. It is alleged that the driver lost control, colliding with barriers on the bridge, causing the bus to go over the bridge and hit the ground, where it caught fire.
“The Minister assures the public that the precise cause of the crash is under thorough investigation,” Department of Transport spokesperson Collen Msibi said.
