Kaizer Chiefs co-coaches shortlist: Who will join Zwane?

Amakhosi management are looking for an additional coach to join Arthur Zwane at Kaizer Chiefs. Here’s the shortlist of potential candidates.

Arthur Zwane could begiven another season at Amakhosi.

However, the dynamic of Amakhosi’s coaching system could change with Amakhosi management looking to bring in an extra coach.

CHIEFS CO-COACH CANDIDATES:

Amakhosi management need somebody who can guide Zwane and help return the Glamour Boys to their glory days. Therefore, they need a coach with experience and trophy credentials. Preferably, someone who has tasted success in the PSL.

We take a closer at three men who could join Zwane at Chiefs.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI

Mngqithi is the most obvious candidate. He has tasted tremendous success with Mamelodi Sundowns – the best team in Mzansi and the PSL for the last six seasons.

Furthermore, he has experience working as a co-coach. Rhulani Mokwena and Mngqithi worked together as co-coaches of Sundowns. So, he knows how to work together and he has success at the top. Furthermore, having been demoted at Sundowns, he is no longer in charge. This is a great chance for Amakhosi management to bounce.

DILLON SHEPPARD (CHIEFS ASSISTANT COACH)

Not much has been said about Sheppard, surprisingly.

I mean he is Zwane’s assistant and he stepped up to help inspire Amakhosi to the 2021 CAF Champions League final. Technically, he is the first in line to take over from Zwane and he could be promoted. However, this is unlikely as they need experience to help guide these two young coaches (Zwane and Sheppard).

PITSO MOSIMANE

Mosimane is the dream pick for Amakhosi fan. Having been linked with a possible exit from Al Ahli, he is set to become available. Also, his home is in South Africa. Finally, Amakhosi need a man of his stature and experience to turn around fortunes. These factors have prompted the wish for Mosimane to come to Naturena.

Unfortunately, it is not likely due to the fact that he has been links with giants Wydad Casablanca, Zamalek and even Nigeria’s national side. However, all hope is not lost as we have seen weirder things in football and this is home after all.
