Joslin Smith’s aunt welcomes news of Kelly’s alleged assault
Joslin Smith’s aunt hasn’t been shy about how she feels about her sister, Kelly. She was recently reacting to her sister’s assault online.
Joslin Smith’s aunt, Mickeyla Daniels, has been vocal about her criticism of her sister Kelly, who is currently facing charges of kidnapping and trafficking.
She’s even liked comments that her older sibling should be “beaten” into revealing the location of her missing child.
Earlier this month, Daniels publicly claimed that Kelly had confessed to her about allegedly selling her daughter for R10 000.
Kelly, her boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis or Boeta, and their friend Steveno van Rhyn made their second appearance on the charges in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court. They will remain in custody until 13 May, when they will appear in court again.
Joslin disappeared from her home in Diazville, Saldanha Bay, on 19 February. At the time, she was under the care of Boeta, who, along with Kelly, have admitted to abusing drugs.
JOSLIN SMITH’S AUNT REACTS TO SISTER’S PRISON BEATINGS
In a Facebook post, Mickeyla Daniels reacted to media reports that Kelly had been beaten by fellow prisoners while in custody at Pollsmoor Prison.
The media reports claim the mother-of-three was assaulted in the women’s awaiting-trial section by fellow remand prisoners.
Daniels captioned the post in Afrikaans: “I said the Lord does not sleep.”
She also liked comments from her followers, a few which read:
“They must beat her nicely. She needs to start talking.
“They must beat her so she can feel what our child went through with all the pain and suffering because of her mother’s stupid choices.”
“Kelly must just say where [Joslin] is. It’s almost a month.”
A few days earlier, Daniels clapped back at critics who questioned her comments about her sibling. She’s also vowed to help find her missing niece, Joslin.
She captioned a video montage of the child: “We will get you. You never deserved what happened”.
KELLY CRIES IN COURT
Meanwhile, Kelly made an emotional appearance in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 13 March.
Moments before being led back into custody, the 33-year-old burst out in tears. In a video posted on social media, she was also seen telling her lawyer: “Ek is bang [I am scared].”
Kelly, her partner, and van Rhyn have all turned down their bail applications.

JOSLIN SMITH SOLD FOR R10K?
During the Facebook Live earlier this month, Gayton McKenzie addressed allegations made by Kelly’s sister Mickeyla Daniels. According to Daniels, Kelly confessed that someone was interested in buying Joslin Smith for R10 000.
Daniels told Gayton during the Live that Kelly had told her on a phone call: “My child is in the squatter camp. Someone wanted to buy her, but Saldanha was ‘too heated.’ Those were her exact words to me.
“I feel Kelly knows where he child is. Why is she not looking for her child with the community?”
Mickeyla claimed that her sister “changed her stories” after that.
Responding, Kelly told Gayton that she had shared with her sister that – as a mother – she believed her child was alive and perhaps in a squatter camp.
She added: “You are a liar and making me look bad for something I don’t know.”
